Gardens you’ll love to live in
Thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces for people who want more from their garden but aren’t sure where to begin.
I’m a Brighton-based garden designer specialising in design solutions for urban and suburban homes across Brighton & Hove and the surrounding areas of Sussex.
Through a balance of creativity, practicality and horticultural knowledge, I transform tired, challenging or underused gardens into welcoming, nature-rich spaces that flow seamlessly from the home and enhance everyday living.
Gardens should feel like a natural extension of the home - intuitive, welcoming and full of life.
What clients say
“My wife and I have strong views on design. Claire was able to bring our ideas together to create a very personal solution that incorporated all we wanted and gave us more than we ever thought possible. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Claire for her knowledge, creativity and ability to listen”
“Claire has transformed a neglected part of my garden into a beautiful Mediterranean-style area. From the very beginning she spent time consulting with me, carefully measuring the space and producing a crafted design. Over 100 plants were thoughtfully chosen and meticulously placed - not only to capture the Mediterranean feel, but also to blend seamlessly with the rest of my existing garden. The result is stunning, and I couldn’t be happier!”
“Claire was an absolute pleasure to work with. She listened carefully to our ideas and came up with a design that encouraged us to be bold. The whole family loves our finished garden. It has already brought us so much joy and I know it will continue to do so for a long time to come.”
“I wanted to learn how to care for our new plants, and Claire’s been an excellent teacher, helping me feel much more confident.
Her capable, ‘can-do’ energy is inspiring”
My approach to garden design
At the heart of my work is a lifelong love of plants and a belief that everyone deserves an outdoor space - large or small - that brings them genuine joy. Access to nature can transform how we feel day to day.
After more than 20 years in strategic, client-facing roles within the creative communications sector, I went on to study horticulture and train in garden design, combining creative thinking, practical problem-solving and an understanding of how people live with their spaces. I’m drawn to urban and suburban gardens, where space is limited and every design decision matters.
My work is considered and collaborative. I take time to understand what matters to you, creating strong structure and flow, while layering in generous planting that adds texture, interest and a real connection to nature.
The result is a garden that feels effortless to live with - natural, welcoming and designed to be enjoyed every day.
